EPA Compliance

Clean Marine Systems, LLC has been primarily focused on product development to be responsive to the U.S. EPA regulations 40 CFR 1060 (marine vessel evaporative emissions standards) which require a number of improvements in vessel fuel systems in order to comply.  The three main requirements are:

  1. Automatic shut of of the fuel gun
  2. Low permeation tanks and hoses
  3. Installation of a carbon canister in the venting of the fuel tank with protection from fuel or water

Partial compliance begins on July 31, 2011 with all new vessels having to be compliant by July 31, 2012.  This is a completely new requirement for the marine industry that results in product purchase of certified product in order to comply.
